My Lord,

Having been informed that His Majesty's Government holds out encouragement to emigrants going to the Cape of Good Hope I take the liberty of addressing your Lordship, wishing to know what assistance will be offered to persons bringing out settlers, if any considerations will be made to professional men and genteel families & if there will be any preference given.

I am a practitioner of Medicine and Licentiate of the College of Surgeons in Ireland these six years and would engage in the cause if I receive sufficient encouragement.

I can provide recommendations from some of the most respectable noblemen and gentlemen in the country respecting my ability if necessary. I am your Lordship's most obt sevt

Thos BEALE
