Death Notice (Cape Archives) says he was born in Hitchen Ferry, Hampshire to John and Mary SEARLE and that his wife was Mary MALKIN

 

[Itchen Ferry was a small hamlet on the East bank of the River Itchen in Hampshire. The village took its name from the small fishing boats that were also used to ferry foot passengers across the river]

Edward SEARLE married Mary MALKIN on 24 February 1819 in St.Martin in the Fields.

Both signed their names.

Witnesses: Jno. TAYLOR and John ?POWYS
