Death Notice (Cape Archives) says he was born in Dymchurch, Romney Marsh, the son of William and Ann WEBSTER [his mother actually seems to have been Mary]

 

Grahamstown Journal 18 August 1849

DIED, on the 3rd day of August, 1849, at his residence, Little Grove, Tarka, in the District of Cradock, Mr. George WEBSTER, born March 4th, 1791, in the Parish of Dim Church, Romney Marsh, County of Kent, England. Deceased was one of the British Settlers of 1820, and has left a beloved wife and six children to lament their bereavement.
