Sir,
Understanding you are authorized by His Majesty's Ministers to treat with any of his subjects to emigrate to the Cape of Good Hope I have a wish to treat with you on the subject. I am a journeyman carpenter and plane maker by trade and I likewise understands agriculture in all its branches. I have a wife and two male children, my age 27 years my wife 30 years and children one 4 years the younger 2 years old all of us in good helth. You will please to have the goodness to state in your answer the terms on which we are to go on and likewise when it is expected that we shall leave England and remain your humble servant
