Sir,
Having received your letter concerning the colonization of the Cape of Good Hope we write to inform you that we have nearly completed the number therein specified with strong active young men under the age of twenty two years who will be thankful to be informed which way to proceed to obtain the grant so generously offered. They further wish to know whether government will find such implements as may be necessary to cultivate the land proposed, or whether they may be allowed to take any small quantity of live stock such as dogs and other useful animals or grain for the cultivation of the aforesaid land. By troubling yourself to answer this you will greatly oblige, Sir
Your very humble servants
