Bradford on Avon, St.Laurence Chapel. St Laurence's is one of very few surviving Saxon churches in England that does not show later medieval alteration or rebuilding. It stands on rising ground next to the larger Norman parish church of the Holy Trinity, where Joseph WEAKLEY was baptised in 1790. The building was used as a combined school (nave) and cottage (chancel) for many years, both on more than one storey. It was rediscovered in 1856 and restored in 1870–80.
