Croscombe, The Cross

Croscombe, The Cross
17th September 2022
Sue Mackay

Croscombe, the former Bull Terrier pub, originally called the Rose and Crown and now a B&B called The Cross. The original licence for the Rose and Crown dates from 1612. James CHANCELLOR, thought to be the grandfather of James Lydford COLLETT, was the parish clerk of Croscombe, and his daughter Martha married Thomas LYDFORD in the nearby parish church. The street leading up from the cross is Church Street.
