Churchyard of All Saints, Newland, a medieval church known as the "Cathedral of the Forest" (of Dean). William ROBERTS of HOLDER's Party was baptised in this church. The white buildings to the right are the Jones Almshouses. A plaque on the wall reads: These Almshouses for Eight Men and Eight Women, Parishioners of Newland, and the Habitation adjoining, for a Lecturer, were Founded AD 1615 by Mr. William Jones, Citizen and Haberdasher of London; and he appointed the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers Governors.
