Boston Spa, Bridge over the River Wharfe, dating fron 1770, connecting Boston Spa to Thorp Arch. William THACKWRAY was from the Boston Spa area and would have passed over this bridge. His sister Mary, who applied to join him at the Cape with her husband Joshua GREENWOOD and 10 children, remained living in Thorp Arch.
