Ufford Hall, near Fressingfield. William SANCROFT, Archbishop of Canterbury from 1678 to 1690, was born at Ufford Hall on 30th January 1617. His granddaughter Alice SANCROFT was the great grandmother of the settlers Edward and John DAMANT.
