MI on the floor of the chancel in St.Andrew's Church, Lammas, reads:

Mariæ DAMANT uxoris Thomæ DAMANT de Lamas Generosi
et filiæ unicæ prædicti Edwardi EYRE

[Here lies buried the body of
Edward EYRE Gentleman
died second day of February of the year 1709
aged 76
Here lies buried the body of
Mary, the wife of Thomas DAMANT of Lamas, Gentleman
And the only daughter of the aforementioned Edward EYRE
died thirteenth day of May of the year 1709
The age of 35]

Mary EYRE was the first wife of Thomas DAMANT, great grandfather of the settlers Edward and John DAMANT.
