The X stands for Christ and shows that he was a graduate of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. The Cambridge Alumni entry reads: Adm. at CORPUS CHRISTI, 1689. Of Norwich. S. of William, of Norwich, alderman. Bapt. at St Peter Mancroft, Sept. 7, 1673. Matric. 1689; Scholar; B.A. 1692-3; M.A. 1696; M.D. 1706. Practised for many years at Diss, Norfolk, Died there Dec. 21, 1750. Buried at Lammas. M.I. there. (Masters.)

The memorial was placed by his wife Alice. Francis GUYBON was the father of Mary GUYBON, wife of Thomas DAMANT and grandmother to the settlers Edward and John DAMANT.
