MI on the floor of the chancel in St.Andrew's Church, Lammas, reads:

Sacred to the Memory of
Thomas DAMANT Gent
Who died the 8 day of July 1731
Aged 62 Years
Also to the Memory of Alice his wife, one of the daughters of Francis SANCROFT, Gent,
Late of Fressingfield in the County of Suffolk.
She died March 21 1732
Aged 49 Years
Here also lie the bodies of 3 of his Children
By Alice his Wife(viz)
William Sancroft Buried April 16 1713
Allen, November 23rd 1715
& Alice, the 16th March 1716

Thomas DAMANT and Alice SANCROFT were the great grandparents of settlers Edward and John DAMANT.
