Stoke Mill in the village of Stoke Holy Cross is now a restaurant, but it was originally an ancient water mill. It burnt down and was rebuilt in 1747. In 1814 it was leased to Jeremiah COLMAN, who started his famous mustard business here. Stephen SMITH was probably living nearby at this time.
