St.Peter and St.Paul, Longbridge Deverill, Interior 2. Ephraim DICKS married both his wives in this church (they are both buried in the churchyard) and his two children, Ephraim and Joseph, were baptised here. James DICKS the Elder also married both his wives in this church, and all his children were baptised here, as well as his nephew Robert HARRIS. James DICKS the Younger and Dinah FORD, the daughter of the Party leader Edward FORD, were married in this church, as were Robert MILES and Ann DICKS and Elijah PAYNE and Mary HALL. Dinah, Maria, John and Patience FORD, children of the Party leader Edward FORD and his wife Jane, were all baptised in Longbridge Deverill on the same day in 1812. Elizabeth FORD was baptised here in 1818 and a few months later her older sister Maria married Benjamin DICKS in the church. Benjamin and Maria did not sail on the Weymouth but joined their families at the Cape between 1829 and 1833, when their son Joseph was born in Grahamstown. Their older children were all baptised in Longbridge Deverill.
