Stalmine, ParishChurch. This church, St.James, bears very little resemblance to the church in which Robert KELBRICK was baptised in 1799. The medieval church of St.Oswald was enlarged in 1710 and then completely rebuilt in 1806, at which point the name was changed to St.James. The house opposite may well have been there in 1799. St.Oswald's served the Preesall area at that time, which is where Robert KELBRICK Senior lived. See here.
