St.Martin's Church, Lincoln, was one of the oldest churches in the city of Lincoln. It was almost totally destroyed in the Civil War but was restored in 1740 and rebuilt in the Georgian style. This church was demolished in 1873. William SOUTH married the widow Lydia SIMPSON here in 1814. It was a third marriage for Lydia, who was the mother of the settler Joseph HEWSON.
