A medieval church rebuilt in the Palladian style in 1740. The parents of Matthew ADAMS (Henry ADAMS and Elizabeth CRAVEN) were married in this church, as were the parents of Robert BAGSHAW (William BAGSHAW and Ann SMITH), George CLARK and Elizabeth RAMSHAW, Robert COLE and Jane GREEN, John Henry DIXON and Mary Ann GURNEY, William FORBES and Charlotte GOODLAND, William HARDEN and Maria DARVILL, John HARE and Esther ANDREWS, Richard HARVEY and Sarah WILLS (nee CUMMINS), George KOLBE and Margaret DOWNING, David NIGHTINGALE and Ann GLODE, Richard PAINTER and Harriet BAILEY, the parents of George SANDERSON (George SANDERSON and Mary EVANS) and Eli Frederick John WATKINS and Martha MARSH. Thomas COLLING, the children of Thomas and Mary FODEN, Robert GODLONTON, Henry MARSHALL, the children of Jesse PAXTON, William and Charles ROBINSON (sons of Thomas ROBINSON and Mary DORRELL),  Amelia ROWLES (daughter of John and Sarah ROWLES) and the first two children of Enos SAUNDERS (aka Thomas Saunders BROWN) were all baptised in this church, as was Sophia HARRIS.
