Lincoln Castle, Observatory Tower. The Castle was built by William the Conqueror on the site of a Roman fortress. Together with the Cathedral it stands on a hill and dominates the town of Lincoln, being visible for miles around. Joseph HEWSON and William SOUTH came from Lincoln.
