Sidbury, St.Giles and St.Peter 2. Richard and James DANIELL were baptised in this church and their parents, William DANIEL(L) and Mary WESTCOTT, were married here.  In 1820 the church was known as St.Peter and St.Giles, but the dedication was later reversed after a chapel of ease was built at Sidford and called St.Peter's. Richard DANIELL named Sidbury in the Eastern Cape after his home village, and the church there is called St.Peter's, whereas this church is now known locally as St.Giles to distinguish it from the Sidford church.
