Dublin Castle, Chapel Royal Interior

Dublin Castle, Chapel Royal Interior
30th September 2023

The Chapel Royal, Dublin Castle, is a Gothic revival replacing an earlier chapel on the same site. It was opened in 1807 and served as the official Church of Ireland chapel of the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland between 1814 and 1922. The chapel is currently closed for restoration work, but this picture of the interior is on the scaffolding outside. Thomas BUTLER was in the Dublin Militia and probably worshipped here.
