Eynsham, The Bartholomew Room

Eynsham, The Bartholomew Room
30th March 2024
Sue Mackay

The Bartholomew Room in Eynsham was built in 1703 from an endowment of John Liam Bartholomew  to found a parish charity school. Its lower storey was arcaded, presumably as market premises, but the arcades were walled up in the later 19th century. Benjamin LEACH lived in Eynsham and was married in the adjacent St.George's Church.
