Ruins of Mitford Castle, an 11th century castle destroyed during the English Civil War. The ruins are directly opposite the lych gate of St.Mary Magdalene Church, so would have been almost the first sight to greet Miles BOWKER and Maria MITFORD after their marriage in the church.
