The old parish church of St.Marylebone became a chapel of ease when the current church was completed in 1817. It was demolished in 1949, and the site is now a public garden. Stephen DELL and Mary HUNT (parents of the settler Edward Hunt DELL) were married in the old church, as were Thomas FRANCIS and Elizabeth JERDON, Francis GREATHEAD and Eleanor HALL (parents of James Henry GREATHEAD), and William MILLER and Eliza DENNISON. Robert Embleton ANDERSON was baptised in the old church, as were two sons of Charles and Elizabeth CAMPBELL, Christopher DALE, two children of Charles and Elizabeth HILL, Charles HOLLIDAY, five children of William LLOYD and Dorcas NEEDHAM (parents of the settler Henry James LLOYD), Thomas SLATER, John, son of William TARR, and Christopher WEBB.
