St.Paul's Church, Covent Garden.  Joseph CHERER and Sophia Elizabeth NOBLE (parents of Mary Ann SMITH) were married in St.Paul's. Five children of William LEE and Ann TOWNSEND were baptised in this church, as was Ann, the daughter of Robert WAY and wife of Henry LOVEMORE. St.Paul's was known as The Actors' Church because of its associations with the theatre world, and several children of the actor John WHITFIELD were baptised here, including the settler Charlotte WHITFIELD. John WHITFIELD acted in Covent Garden, but the theatre was destroyed by fire in 1806. For pictures and a history see here.
