St.Mary the Virgin South Door

St.Mary the Virgin South Door

The 15th century South Door of St.Mary's, which is the oldest surviving part of the church. Nottingham settlers getting married here would have emerged from this door on to High Pavement. John BRADFIELD and Mary DENNIS were married in St.Mary's, as were William ELLIOTT and Sarah DARKER (parents of the settler brothers William and Mark ELLIOTT), Joseph HOOK and Lucy SANSOM (parents of George SANSOM, aka HOOK), William MEATS and Mary REDGATE (parents of the settler William MEATS), Thomas Henry TARR and Ann RADFORD and James WRIGHT and Jane WHITTLE (parents of the settler brothers William and Joseph WRIGHT).
