Melton Mowbray, Anne of Cleves Pub

Melton Mowbray, Anne of Cleves Pub, adjacent to St.Mary's Church. The building is said to date from 1384 and was originally a chantry priest's house. Henry VIII is said to have assigned the revenues from the house to Anne of Cleves as part of the divorce settlement. Christopher ADCOCK came from Melton Mowbray and would have known this pub well.
