Fakenham, St.Peter and St. Paul. Thomas STERLEY is thought to have lived in Fakenham, and Edward DAMANT wrote his correspondence with the Colonial Office from the town. Many changes were made to the church in the Victorian era but the tower dates from the 15th century. The eagle lectern in the church was donated by Eliza DAMANT in 1887 in memory of her husband, a ‘surgeon of this town’.
