Framework Knitter's Cottage. The trade of framework knitter (often abbreviated to FWK) was very prevalent in Nottinghamshire. Of those who emigrated with the Nottingham Party, John and Joseph BRADFIELD, Mark and William ELLIOTT, James HARRIS, Samuel JACKSON, George and Thomas PALMER, William PIKE, Joseph RADFORD, Henry SHEPHERD, Thomas TIMM and Joseph and William WRIGHT were known to be framework knitters.
