Gedling, All Hallows. The Albert ELLIOTT, aged 1, who emigrated with Mark and Sarah ELLIOTT was in fact born Albert FISH, the illegitimate son of Sarah FISH, who was baptised in this church in 1819. Sarah was in Gedling workhouse at the time but married Mark ELLIOTT in 1820 just before sailing to the Cape.
