St.Mary's Old Church, Stoke Newington. This was the village church until the mid 19th century, when the rapidly expanding local population caused a grander new church to be built across the road. This church is still used for services although there are plans to convert it into an arts centre. It is unusual in that it was one of the few churches built in the Elizabethan period, so was never a Roman Catholic church. Sarah Ann, eldest daughter of Arthur BARKER, was baptised here.
