About the beginning of the year  my brother Charles EVANS went out to the Cape of Good Hope as a settler there, since which [period] I have heard no tidings of him whether he be alive or dead. If you have it in your power to give me any information respecting him I shall esteem it a great favour if your Lordship will be pleased to direct one of your clerks to drop me a few lines to satisfy the enquiries of his anxious relatives.
