Preserving Our Story: Facebook Posts Now on Our Website

Access to the Facebook Archive

We’re excited to announce that we are now archiving all of our Facebook posts right here on the website! This initiative ensures that the incredible work our volunteer publishers have shared over the years is preserved, celebrated, and always accessible.

From heartfelt stories to community milestones, every post reflects the passion and dedication of our volunteers. By bringing this content onto the website, we’re not only safeguarding our history but also making it easier for everyone to revisit and appreciate the journey we’ve taken together.

Thank you to all our volunteer publishers—your contributions continue to inspire and connect us.

Monthly talks on YouTube

We have a number of our monthly zoom presentations on YouTube. The channel is managed by Cornel Viljoen.

Thank you to all our guest speakers for your interesting presentations delivered with so much enthusiasm and granting us permission to put your talks on YouTube.  Special thanks also to our viewers who always join us for these meetings as well as to National for allowing us to utilize their Zoom for these presentations.

You can find the list of talks here. Talks on YouTube

eGGSA Graves

At last we have got the new graves website done and available:  graves.eggsa.org

I have done my best with the help of Riana le Roux and Corney Keller.

I have had to transfer all the photos to the new webserver and then, using program scripts, transfer all the captions and descriptions from the old database to the new one. I cannot guarantee that every item has been correctly done but I believe that 98% is correct.

It was quite a job!

The photos are now available grouped by their Province each of which has a search function to help searchers find the grave they are looking for.  We know that many of the images are sideways on and we will be working on correcting those. Please report any other problems you encounter by sending me a link to the problem, Richard Ball

Please do continue sending any edits, as well as new grave photographs to us, we will attend to it as soon as we can, Riana le Roux
