Charles CRAUSE Senior was a Captain in the 65th Regiment of Foot. Latterly he lived at Spring Grove in Redwings Lane, Pembury, Kent, and several of his children were baptised in St.Peter's, Pembury.

Charles CRAUSE (1784-1867) was commissioned as Second Lieutenant, 19th Company (Chatham Division) Royal Marines in 1800, was made Lieutenant in 1804, and served on HMS Albion and HMS Irresistable. He was placed on half-pay in October 1814.

Family returned to England in 1826.
