Sir,
Understanding it is your department to give the necessary information respecting the emigration to the Cape of Good Hope I shall esteem it a favour if you will afford me that information and as there are some subjects which possibly the prospectus may not explain such for instance as the terms upon which an Architect & Builder and his family with Mechanics in the building department, a land surveyor to the number of the Ton in fashionable London, will be taken. Likewise understanding that there is a new Town to be erected it will be necessary to state if Government will send out an Architect of its own for that purpose, or if any particular allowance or accommodation will be afforded to an Architect and his family who may choose to settle at the Cape, as those come from Liverpool for the purpose of gaining this information shall feel particularly obliged if you will favour me with as early an answer as you conveniently can.
I am Sir most respectfully your humble sevt
J.W. BISHOP
