Dr. RUBRIDGE MB London MRCS begs to inform the inhabitants of this District that he has taken up his residence at Dr. WILLIAMS' High street, Graham's Town, opposite Mr. ORSMOND's Hotel, where he intends practising the various branches of the Medical profession.
DIED at Graham's Town on Sunday evening, 24th instant, of a severe and lingering illness, induced by a fall from horse, Elizabeth, the beloved Wife of Mr. Richard ORSMOND, agged [sic] 33 years and 5 months.

Parents residing in the vicinity of Fort Beaufort, and desirous that their sons should share in the advantages offered by the Government Free School at that place, are respectfully informed that arrangements can be made for the reception of a few boys into his family by the Revd. E.S. WILSHIRE, Chaplain, by whom their general improvement and moral welfare would be superintended.

The Alice has just arrived in Table Bay with 212 emigrants, to whom in consequence of the suspicion which now justly attaches to all emigrants sent out under the auspices of the Colonial Office, the Emigration Agent, Mr. SOUTHEY, has been obliged to furnish a certificate of character in the shape of a government notice.

All persons claiming to be Creditors under this Estate are required to take notice that the Undersigned has been duly elected to, and confirmed in, the appointment of Sole Trustee of the said Estate, and that the Master has appointed the third Meeting to be held before the Resident Magistrate, at his Office at Graham's Town, on Wednesday the 12th day of September next, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, for the proof of debts, for receiving the Trustee's Report, and also for the purpose of giving directions to the said Trustee as to the management of the said Estate.
And all persons indebted to the said Estate are required to pay the same to the Undersigned, on or before the above period, at the office of the Eastern Province Trust Company, Graham's Town, or proceedings will be instituted against them.

DIED at Burgersdorp, Sept 4 1849, after a lingering illness, Patience, the beloved wife of J.B. TEMLETT, aged 28 years, leaving a husband and 3 children, with a large circle of relatives and friends to deplore her loss. She was a believer in Jesus, and her end was peace.
