Thomas SWEETMAN married Jane BARTON on 20 December 1802 in Wartling, Sussex

 

Thomas son of Thomas and Jane SWEATMAN baptised 1 July 1804 in Burwash, Sussex

Jane daughter of Thomas and Jane SWEATMAN baptised 3rd April 1806 in Burwash, Sussex

William son of Thomas and Jane SWEETMAN baptised 7 April 1808 in Burwash, Sussex

 

Death Notice (Cape Archives) of their son James SWEETNAM [sic] says he was born in Sittingbourne, Kent

Hannah and Ruth also supposedly born in Sittingbourne. Baptisms not found.

Thomas SWEETMAN 6 Jan > SB366 as a cooper until ship's arrival at the Cape of Good Hope [crew muster gives his age as 42 and his place of birth as Deal]

A child SWEETMAN was born on board on 7 April 1820 (named Richard)
